Due to this growth we are expanding the Finance team and we are looking for a leader to manage and develop our accounting teams, covering activities such as Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Taxes, Intercompany, Master data management and Treasury. In this newly created role, you'll have the opportunity to shape and standardize our accounting processes while stepping in as a pivotal leader when our Executive Director is away.

About the role

As Head of Accounting Operations (m/f/d) you will be leading the Accounting Operations Team, with a span of control of approximately 30 fte and 4 direct reports. Reporting to the Executive Director Accounting & Tax, you'll take the lead in standardizing processes, facilitating the monthly financial close, and fostering seamless collaboration across departments. In the absence of the Executive Director, you'll step up to ensure continuity and excellence in financial operations.

About your tasks

• Collaborate with sub-teams to streamline and monitor Accounting, Accounts Payables, and Accounts Receivables processes
• Implement standardized processes and documentation to uphold financial control standards
• Lead the monthly accounting cycle and close with particular focus on meeting reporting deadlines and review of journal postings and other work performed by members of the team and perform associated balance sheet reconciliations
• Mentor and develop finance staff, nurturing talent and fostering growth
• Support the implementation of a robust control environment focused on risk management and strong internal control framework

About you

The ideal candidate for this role is a dynamic and seasoned finance professional with a track record of leadership excellence. You possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, coupled with a keen eye for process optimization and efficiency. You are not only a strategic thinker but also a hands-on leader who inspires and empowers your team to deliver outstanding results.

The location for this role is our Head office in Sevenum near Venlo with no remote possibilities. 

• Master’s degree in Business, Accounting & Control, Economics or Finance
• Expertise in technical IFRS accounting principles, complemented by a professional accountancy qualification
• A proven leader who motivates and empowers their team while maintaining a hands-on approach (leading by example)
• Keen attention to detail and ensuring financial accuracy and data integrity
