About the role: 

We are seeking an experienced AI and Data Governance Lead (m/f/d) to manage the governance frameworks for both Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems and data within our organization. This dual-role will split responsibilities evenly between AI governance and data governance, ensuring that both AI systems and data management practices adhere to the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and quality. The AI and Data Governance Lead will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing policies and frameworks that govern the responsible use of AI and data, mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering transparency, fairness, and accountability.

About your tasks: 

• Define and enforce policies related to data quality, integrity, privacy, and security across the organization. Ensure data is accessible, accurate, and usable for AI, business analytics, and other needs.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection standards. Develop and implement procedures for managing sensitive data and data access controls.
• Oversee the full data lifecycle, from collection, storage, usage, and retention to secure deletion, ensuring proper management of data assets.
• Work closely with data management, IT, legal, and business teams to ensure proper data governance practices are followed across the organization.
• Define and enforce data quality standards, ensuring that data is clean, accurate, and consistent across all departments and systems.

About you: 

• Multiple years of experience in data governance, AI governance, or related fields, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Hands-on experience establishing and overseeing data and AI governance policies, controls, and workflows.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, data management, data privacy regulations, and governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC standards).
• Experience in risk management and mitigation for both AI systems and data governance.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex governance challenges. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement.
