2018 SEMPORA pharmacy market survey: SHOP APOTHEKE #1 for sixth year in a row.

Pharmacy industry decision-makers once again ranked SHOP APOTHEKE first among online pharmacies in the renowned 15th SEMPORA survey of the German pharmacy market. Germany’s leading online pharmacy defended the top spot for the sixth consecutive year with an industry-leading score of 1.8.

“Getting the top mark further highlights and reinforces our strong and trusting relationship with the pharmaceutical sector,” says Stephan Weber, SHOP APOTHEKE’s board member for Marketing & Sales. “We’re also very excited that EUROPA APOTHEEK, which has been a part of SHOP APOTHEKE since last year, was able to improve its score by 0.2 points compared to last year so that the company is now also among the top 5 in the overall online pharmacy ranking.”

48 decision-makers from the pharmaceutical industry, 162 pharmacists and over 1,000 consumers were questioned about the German pharmacy market for this year’s SEMPORA survey. Topics included opinions and evaluations on the development of the market, the challenges of digitalization and assessments of the level of satisfaction and quality of collaboration between online pharmacies on the one hand and wholesale traders and pharmaceutical companies on the other.

The survey also provides insights into the sector’s current market situation and highlights trends in and expectations of the dynamically growing German pharmacy market. The majority of those surveyed agrees that the importance of online pharmacies in providing medical supplies will continue to grow in the future.

Consumers also expressed their appreciation with the benefits and service provided by Germany’s leading online pharmacy: SHOP APOTHEKE was named Value-for-Money-Champion in an extensive survey by ServiceValue and Die Welt newspaper; the company also earned a high gold medal ranking in the survey’s overall ranking across all sectors. More than 700,000 customer evaluations of over 2,000 brands in 200 sectors were analyzed to calculate the rankings.
