About your role:

As a Import / Export Customs Expert (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring seamless import and export operations within our last-mile distribution network. You will be responsible for managing customs processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing cross-border trade efficiency. Acting as the main liaison between customs authorities, brokers, and internal teams, you will drive process improvements, maintain key customs statuses, and support compliance with international trade regulations. Your expertise will help streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall logistics performance.

About your tasks:

• Drive continuous improvement in import/export processes, maintaining ownership of documented SOPs and ensuring compliance with country regulations.
• Ensure accurate declaration of product-related export/import information, codes, and documents for shipments and internal databases.
• Obtain and maintain key customs statuses for the company (e.g., authorized sender, approved consignor) while monitoring import/export performance and KPIs.
• Act as the primary contact for customs matters, collaborating with customs authorities (NL), brokers, and fiscal representatives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline customs processes, enhancing compliance, efficiency, and cost savings.

• You possess an education as a customs broker or its equivalent, with a specialization in customs and foreign trade and you bring a minimum two years' customs and foreign trade experience.
• You are fluent in English, (verbally and written); proficiency in German is valued, and knowing additional languages is advantageous.
• You are proficient in IT for data extraction/maintenance and exceptional MS Office skills.
• You are knowledgeable in customs-related IT systems (e.g., T-documentation).
• You have an advanced understanding of import/export, customs duties, and VAT management in international contexts.
